Stay tuned for more info about Summer 2019!
The overwhelming need for free positive summer programming for youth is impossible to ignore. The Summer YDA supports the positive development of under-resourced middle and high school students by linking them with mentor/role models, healthy activities, and a network of supportive peers.
The program focuses on developing 21st Century skills to help prepare students to be leaders in their schools, neighborhoods, and the community at large. The program is held on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills, which affords students the opportunity to experience a beautiful college campus and inspiration for the opportunities it holds for their future.
Students entering grades 7-8 (Fall 2019) will participate in a 4-week session learning valuable leadership skills while engaged in fun athletics, creative arts, swimming, STEM, and leadership-building activities. (Students entering Grade 6 do not qualify for our program.)
Students entering grades 9-12 (Fall 2019) will participate in a 4-week session exploring key leadership skills promoting advocacy and civic engagement. Athletics, creative arts, swimming, and life/academic skills are also taught.
