CHALLENGING HOME LIVES
INTERACTIONS WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
That’s why Sharefest delivers hope to under-resourced and disconnected students. Our primary work takes place inside 5 LAUSD Continuation High Schools from Watts to San Pedro where students meet caring adults from the Sharefest team.
Our youth receive mentoring, trauma-informed mental health services, and classes that accelerate earning credits they desperately need to graduate high school. The courses they participate in work beyond graduation as they build career readiness and professional development. Perhaps more importantly, Sharefest provides students with essential life skills and a solid career path -- hope!
22,000 kids are in foster care in Los Angeles County
200,000 youth in Los Angeles live below the poverty line
There are nearly three million unfilled trade jobs
HERE'S HOW OUR YOUTH PROGRAM WORKS:

Meet students in Continuation High Schools where we provide accelerated life skills and career development courses to help students earn a high school diploma.

Deliver ongoing mentoring, educational support and access to essential mental health services.

Guide, mentor and resource students after high school on their journey to the workforce or college.
Our ultimate goal is to see our youth achieve life-changing economic success so they can mobilize from poverty, build a strong future and help their community do the same.
“Sharefest provides youth with a broader perspective and academic skills that will benefit them as they move forward with their careers and lives. Attendance at Angel’s Gate High School has increased from 75% to 90% over the past three years and Sharefest has supported us in this process and contributed to this positive increase.”
Paul Valanis, Angel’s Gate High School Principal
Sharefest pours more resources into each individual student than schools and other organizations are able to. Following a student from high school into college or career pathways is simply the most effective way for youth to truly mobilize from poverty.
Will you partner with us to empower more youth to transform their futures?
