As area schools remain closed, Jared Goff and his organization JG16 saw an opportunity to make improvements to a local school without disrupting an active learning environment. Known for our service projects throughout underserved neighborhoods and with the Rams Community Engagement Team as well as with players like Andrew Whitworth, JG16 reached out to Sharefest to spearhead the project.

Some may not know that we started as a community service organization and have completed over $13M of work throughout the area in under-resourced schools and communities. When JG16 reached out we felt confident this was a project we could tackle and give students something exciting to come back to when Warren Lane is able to reopen.

Sharefest cultivated a team of designers, artists and contractors and worked closely with JG16 and the Inglewood Unified School District to transform the outdated library space into a multipurpose learning environment. The library now features a distinct entrance welcoming students to the Jared Goff Reading Zone. Inside, the room is blanketed in bright murals and features various reading and study nooks and updated bookshelves. Adjacent to the library students have access to a brand new tech room where they can collaborate on STEAM projects and perform research.

Shonda Calhoun, Principal of Warren Lane Elementary, was thrilled to have her school selected by JG16 to receive this gift. She said, “I know the potential of the students at Warren Lane. I get to see it every day. Watching Jared Goff team up with Sharefest to bring this project from idea to fruition is amazing. I love the collaboration and this is a dream come true for the Warren Lane School Community! This season has been hard on our students and families. Knowing they have the JG16 Reading Zone gives me great joy. Thank you to Jared and Sharefest for giving our library new life! I can’t wait to work with you both on the next Warren Lane Elementary School project!”

While no longer a quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, Jared Goff intends to continue his investment into the Inglewood Unified School District.

“It’s been a very positive partnership between my philanthropic platform, JG16, and Sharefest.” Jared recently shared, “I am very pleased with the library at Warren Lane Elementary that my team worked on hand-in-hand with Sharefest to design and assist with project management. The Sharefest organization unequivocally shares my passion for education, literacy, and youth development.”

We couldn’t agree more and are excited to team up with Jared and JG16 on another project to be announced soon.
