YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Giving youth the skills, resources and support they need to transform their futures
SHAREFEST YOUTH FACE BARRIERS SUCH AS...
FALLING BEHIND EARLY IN SCHOOL
UNADDRESSED PHYSICAL, MENTAL & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NEEDS
UNSAFE NEIGHBORHOODS FILLED WITH CRIME & VIOLENCE
CHALLENGING HOME LIVES
INTERACTIONS WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
That's why Sharefest delivers hope to students on the verge of dropping out and sitting at the fringe of the education system. Since 2009 Sharefest has been the only community-based organization consistently working inside these schools with youth who are under-served, under-resourced AND underestimated. Sharefest empowers them with life skills, professional development and helps them build a pathway to a life-changing career.
22,000 kids are in foster care in Los Angeles County
200,000 youth in Los Angeles live below the poverty line
There are nearly three million unfilled trade jobs
HERE'S HOW OUR YOUTH PROGRAM WORKS:
Meet students in Continuation High Schools where we provide accelerated life skills and career development courses to help students earn a high school diploma.
Deliver ongoing mentoring, college and career pathway placement and case management.
Guide, mentor and resource students after high school on their journey to the workforce or college.
Our ultimate goal is to see all Los Angeles youth no longer be limited by barriers to economic mobility.
“I am proud of how far I have come and I can say Sharefest made a huge impact on where I am today.”
Doris Romero, Sharefest Alumni
Sharefest pours more resources into each individual student than schools and other organizations are able to. Following a student from high school into college or career pathways is simply the most effective way for youth to truly achieve economic mobility.
Will you partner with us to empower more youth to transform their futures?
